Meet Dr. Stephanie Mastrota

Stephanie Mastrota, DMD

Dr. Mastrota grew up in Long Island, New York, and has spent many summers in Stonington, CT sailing and visiting her son who was stationed at the Naval Base in Groton.

Dr. Stephanie Mastrota received her BS in Biology in 1983 from Villanova University where she realized that dentistry was the perfect combination of art and science. She completed her Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1987 at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

In 2011 Dr. Mastrota was recruited by her son and joined the United States Naval Reserve as a Lieutenant. With a desire to help those in need, she served on a mission trip to Africa in 2013 with the Marine Corp 4th Dental Battalion. During her time in Africa, she provided dental care to underprivileged residents of Agadir, Morocco, and was featured in the Continental Marine Magazine for her service. Leading up to her time in the Navy, she also served as a Clinical Instructor for the Aesthetic Advantage courses at the New York University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Mastrota’s desire for providing patients with the most up-to-date techniques in dentistry has led her to pursue extensive training in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, esthetic dentistry, oral-systemic health, and state-of-the-art implant restoration solutions. Dr. Mastrota specializes in restoring dental implants and natural teeth, root canals, veneers, full mouth rehabilitation solutions, advanced cosmetic dentistry, and clear aligner therapy. She also belongs to many professional dental associations including the American Dental Association (ADA), International Association of Orthodontics (AIO), and the American Academy of Facial Esthetics.

Dr. Mastrota has 2 adult children and just moved back to Connecticut after practicing General Dentistry in Pennsylvania for 35 years. When she is not with patients she enjoys dining in the city, sailing in Stonington, trick or treating with her granddaughters, traveling, and visiting with friends and families.
